Welcome to Miami Recycle Center
WHY RECYCLE YOUR ELECTRONICS WITH MIAMI RECYCLE CENTER?
Every 455 metric tons of electronics recycled helps save the energy and electricity used for more than 3,500 homes every year in the U.S. Recycling of electronics such as computers, servers, laptops, cell phones, routers, telecom equipment, tablets, video games, copiers, printers, etc. can help to recover old materials for use in the manufacturing of new products, reducing the depletion of our natural resources, which is a helpful tool to protect the environment and fight global warming.
ELECTRONIC WASTE IN OUR LANDFILLS IS WRONG
Improper disposal of electronic devices can cause serious health problems for our community. It can affect the environment, our drinking water, the air we breathe, and the food we eat. Electronic devices contain hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, phosphorous, cadmium, barium, arsenic, and plastics, which could take hundreds of years before dissolving in the atmosphere.
Effective January 1, 2017, Miami Recycle Center will no longer service private household or handle individual drop-offs at our facility. Miami Recycle Center will only serve businesses of any size in Miami-Dade County, such as banking and financing, insurance companies, IT departments of any size, government agencies, hospitals, private and public schools, hosting companies, telecom companies, and any other size of office and warehouse.
For private household electronic recycling, you may bring your obsolete electronic items to recycling centers in your community or to a major electronic retailer near you. For a recycling drop-off center near you, please call Miami-Dade County at 311 or visit the website www.miamidave.gov/recycling
